Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Matthew 5:8 (NIV)
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO SEE GOD?
1. I WILL LITERALLY
GOD WITH MY EYES.
They will see his face, and his name will be written on their foreheads. Revelation 22:4 (NLT)
Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. John 14:9b
2. I WILL BE ABLE TO
THE WILL OF GOD.
I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you...Ephesians 1:18 (NIV)
3. I WILL BE ABLE TO
GOD’S HANDIWORK.
For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities —his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not
knowing God. Romans 1:20 (NLT)
4. I WILL BE ABLE TO
GOD’S WORK IN MY LIFE.
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28 (NLT)
Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” John 3:3 (NLT)
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO HAVE A PURE HEART?
1. THE HEART IS THE
OF MY LIFE.
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4:23 (NIV)
The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? Jeremiah 17:9 (NLT)
2. A PURE HEART IS
FROM CONTAMINATION.
What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy—full of greed and self-indulgence! Matthew 23:25 (NLT)
3. ONLY THE
CAN GIVE ME A PURE HEART.
God knows people’s hearts, and he confirmed that he accepts Gentiles by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he did to us. He made no distinction between us and them, for he cleansed their hearts through faith. Acts 15:8-9 (NLT)
Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God... Hebrews 9:14 (NLT)
4. MY HEART BECOMES PURE WHEN I
MY SINS.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. I John 1:9 (NIV)
