“Helping Others Become Better Leaders”
Exodus 18:19-24
Deuteronomy 31:7 reads, “Then Moses called for Joshua, and as all Israel watched, he said to him, “Be strong and courageous! For you will lead these people into the land that the Lord swore their ancestors he would give them. You are the one who will divide it among them as their grants of land.” (NLT) This verse records words of encouragement Moses had for the next leader for the nation of Israel. No person, regardless of their experience, expertise, or exposure, becomes an effective leader on their own. This is true in every industry where leadership takes place. As it relates to ministry, God always positions individuals to help others become more skilled to serve Him. This lesson is designed to share how one can help others become a better leader.

“Teach them God’s decrees, and give them his instructions. Show them how to conduct their lives. 21) But select from all the people some capable, honest men who fear God and hate bribes. Appoint them as leaders over groups of one thousand, one hundred, fifty, and ten. 22) They should always be available to solve the people’s common disputes, but have them bring the major cases to you. Let the leaders decide the smaller matters themselves. They will help you carry the load, making the task easier for you. 23) If you follow this advice, and if God commands you to do so, then you will be able to endure the pressures, and all these people will go home in peace.” (NLT)
