A Reputation Without Life

Revelation 3:1–6

Big Idea

It is possible for people to think we are doing well spiritually while something inside us has quietly gone cold.

I. Jesus Sees the Difference Between and Reality

Revelation 3:1

“You have a reputation for being alive, but you are dead.”

People may remember what we used to be. Jesus sees what we are .

You can look fine on the outside and still be running on empty.

II. and Strengthen What Remains

Revelation 3:2–3

“Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die.”

Jesus’ Commands

If there is still a spark, don’t ignore it. it.

“Remember, then, what you have received and heard; keep it, and repent.”

III. Live for the Name Jesus Knows

Revelation 3:4–6

“I will never erase his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and before his angels.”

Key Idea

  • The church had a name among people
  • Jesus knew the names of the faithful
  • Jesus promises to confess their name before the Father

Conclusion

Don’t live on yesterday’s faith. Walk with Jesus .
